Mordele is a set of 3 hills located in Valkarin fields (near Poreč). They have a rich history and the remains on the hills are 4000 years old. Two series of hills, Picugi (with visible traces of the former step pyramid shape) and Mordele, have a formation similar to the formation of stars in the Orion constellation, the same formation faithfully followed by the pyramid builders in ancient Egypt and many other ancient sites. Therefore the name Istrian Stonehenge, the functions of which were most probably orientation in time and space, tracking cosmic changes, and determination of beginnings and endings of the seasons.
